This museum quality skull replica was cast from a pre-Colombian specimen found in modern day Peru. Interesting features of this one include a slightly elongated cranium common for the Incan "cradle boarding" fashion, and a trepanation scar. Trepanation is a form of brain surgery practiced since ancient times in which a hole was cut into the skull, in this case, with stone tools.
