poseable rot man 62

This is just one of many bodies, body parts, and sheeps hearts that the now-filming horror DVD “Alone in the Dark 2″ rented for their production. Their taste in props was perfectly suited to the Dapper Cadaver inventory, being a lovely mix of everything we do best, gore, oddities, scientific equipment, and death related props.

This is the sequel to Alone in the Dark (1) in which paranormal investigator Edward Carnby uncovers a centuries old demonic cult and the the gateway to a hellish realm.

What new mysteries await Edward in the sequel we’ll have to wait until 2009

large brain jar 7 $50

Cartoon network is launching a mixed live action and animated series called Re-Animated. The plot revolves around a boy who, after an emergency brain transplant, finds himself seeing cartoon characters in real life.

I’ve already provided props to several episodes, including the hero brain, pictured here. From what I’ve seen of the scripts, this definitely looks like one of the weirdest, zaniest series ever. Check it out.

hand with bloody bone

Kathryn Bigelow, the director behind Wild Palms, Strange Days, and the most awesome movie of the early 90’s, Point Break, is out on location filming a new movie called “Hurt Locker.” Described on their IMDB page as this- “In Iraq. Forced to play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in the chaos of war, an elite Army bomb squad unit must come together in a city where everyone is a potential enemy and every object could be a deadly bomb.”

The hand you see here is just one of many body parts Dapper Cadaver created for the film.

Daily Monster- Worlds Largest FeeGee Mermaid

6 ft feegee mermaid on stand 6

This Feegee Mermaid, among the largest ever discovered at nearly 6ft long, will be on display at the Haunted Village in Las Vegas through October. Because of it’s large size and excellent condition science has been able to uncover more secrets of the mermaids life and evolution than ever before. Far from a amalgamated half man half fish, the feegee (or fiji or feejee) mermaid is fully mammal, although one belong to a previously unknown genus. Osteological analysis points to an ancestor either among the bats or prosimians. Evolutionary biologists believe that the ancestor likely found itself storm swept to a resource poor island in the fijian archaepelago, and took to the sea for food. Over time its arborial or flight structures were adapted for swimming, a process known as retrograde evolution and most familiar outside the scientific community as the process by which penguins evolved from flying birds.

Feegee mermaids are born only a few inches in length, and grow incredibly slowly throughout their lives. Specimens therefore are extremely rare, and usually both small and damaged. It is believed this Feegee was nearly 50 years old at the time of it’s death.

The man who made the legendary horror films Hellraiser, Candyman, and Nightbreed is back with a new movie based on one of his original stories, Midnight Meat Train. The production made frequent visits to the Dapper Cadaver prop shop at 5519 Hollywood Blvd, and rented several body parts, gore pieces, and torture instruments for use in the film.

I for one can’t wait to see the hideous things they rented put into action.

The chupa is based on actual eyewitness accounts of the mexican goat sucker, a sheepdog sized mammal with a disproportionately large head and eyes, 3 fingered hands, and spikes protruding from his back.
