How to help Ed Wood, Jr. join the pantheon of stars on Hollywood Boulevard in 2008:
- Email us with facts that help qualify Ed Wood for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Of particular interest: Any awards that Ed Wood’s films have won (every film festival counts!). Any charity work that you know Ed Wood, Jr. has engaged in or any charitable donations that have been made in his name. Any organizations or film festivals that have been started up in the name of Ed Wood or any of his films. Email us now.
- Donate to the Ed Wood Star Fund. The current fee for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is $15,000 to be paid by the sponsoring party upon nomination by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Our official deadline is May 30, 2007. (But we all know that Ed could have raised $15,000 in less time than that, right?) Remember that $1 from 15,000 people adds up to $15,000. Every little bit helps. On the other hand, if you have $15,000 and you would like to be the sponsoring party on the nomination form, please contact us and we will pass all of our research on to you. Donate online now.
If you do not have internet access, you can also donate by phone with a credit card by calling (323) 962-1924. Or you can donate in person with cash, check or a credit card at the Dapper Cadaver store located at 5519 Hollywood Blvd (cross street Western).
NOTE: If we raise $15,000 and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce does not nominate Ed Wood, Jr. to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, we will make a charitable donation to the ASPCA in the memory of Ed Wood, Jr. and Kathy Wood per his widow’s request.
- Tell your friends! Post about this campaign on MySpace or your personal website. Ask your local newspaper to do a story on this campaign. Encourage others to donate online, by phone or in person.
