Thumb - Stage 1: Fresh stage- Still looks fairly lifelike but rigor mortis, cellular decay and digestion and organ decomposition occur.
Index Finger - Stage 2: Bloat -Bacteria and gasses cause the body to swell and livor mortis causes discoloration.
Middle Finger - Stage 3: Active Decay - The body breaks down, loses fluids, and is eaten by bacteria and maggots.
Ring Finger - Stage 4: Advanced Decay - only the toughest tissues remain and the finger has a leathery, mummified look.
Pinky Finger- Stage 5: Dry Remains - skeleton and little else remains.
