When a fossil is found at a dig site a trench is dug around it and the entire specimen, bones, rock, sand and all, are removed, wrapped in plaster and sent back to the lab for cleaning and cataloging. This prop represents a field specimen that is about halfway through the cleaning process. It features removable sand, a removable skull, and a complete dinosaur fossil. Fossil measures 27" x 17" Dinosaur would have been roughly 2 feet tall and 4 feet long.
